Pedro R. García
My journey from atheism to Jesus is the story I am most thankful to tell. Born in Córdoba, Spain, I spent years pursuing a career as a professional saxophonist, a path that led me to become a finalist on Spain’s Got Talent and eventually took me around the world as a performer and professor. While I had always been drawn to philosophy and the "big questions" of life, I remained internally lost until my path brought me to Nashville, Tennessee. It was there that Jesus took hold of me and never let go.
Once I began to hear His voice and walk in obedience, my life changed forever. My new faith sparked a deep desire to engage with others who, like my former self, were searching for answers. This led me to spend years hosting live conversations between Christians and non-Christians, as well as translating for various online ministries. Through these countless dialogues, I realized that, in my experience, no one truly walks away from Christianity because of Jesus Himself.
This profound realization inspired me to write my novel, "For Those Who Doubt: Is It Because of Jesus?" Through a story of friendship, pain, and hope, I wanted to help those deconstructing their faith face the ultimate question: Is it because of Jesus? To dive deeper into these themes, I also host the "Is It Because of Jesus" podcast, where I explore the psychology of doubt and why Jesus is often excluded from the journey away from God.
Today, I am honored to serve the global and local church as a translator for both The Bible Project and GotQuestions.org, and as the Outreach Director at The Donelson Fellowship in Nashville. I also speak at events to help others, both adults and youth, to engage compassionately with those who are losing their faith. Whether you are a believer looking to deepen your walk or someone currently deconstructing, I invite you to look closely at the person of Christ and ask:
Is it because of Jesus?
